I.Grunwerg wins kitchen hero honour

I.Grunwerg Ltd was awarded with the Kitchen Hero award after a successful 70 years of distributing award winning products to retailers throughout the UK.

On the 8th February at a glittery Housewares Innovation Awards dinner by Housewares Magazine, the award, which was sponsored by Housewares Magazine was handed to Charles and David Grunwerg who have both, for 70 years grown and developed I.Grunwerg into an award winning distribution company, that focusses on new and innovative products.

The awards was organised by Datateam Business Media Group, the publisher of Housewares Magazine and its digital partner Housewareslive.net. This year saw it working with Spring Fair to bring the Housewares Innovation Awards to Birmingham for the first time. The move more than paid off, with nearly 400 members of the trade descending upon the Vox Conference Centre to celebrate excellence in the housewares sector.

The evening kicked off with a fabulous champagne reception. Followed by a welcome speech by Events Manager Laurie Marrington. A sumptuous three course meal was then served, with award winning journalist, writer and broadcaster Jay Rayner taking over the proceedings to host the Awards.

Laurie Marrington commented: “Grunwerg is a leading supplier of housewares with over 70 years of experience of new product development and innovation. This family business specialises in premium stainless steel products, especially kitchen knives.

“As importers and distributors, the company works closely with factories worldwide to develop new and innovative products. We are honoured to present the Kitchen Hero Award 2016 to Charles and David Grunwerg of Grunwerg.”

Event director, Hannah Dedman said:  “These awards are designed to shine a spotlight on the UK’s most outstanding retailers and suppliers for ensuring that the end user, the consumer, gets the service, quality, style and functionality they expect. Congratulations to Grunwerg for joining the ranks as a Housewares Innovation Award winner.”

David Grunwerg says, ‘It is an honour to win such a prestigious award within the housewares industry. Charles and I have been in the business for over 70 years and it is nice to see our achievements being acknowledged and awarded. Thank you to everyone involved, and I hope you all had a great night like we did.’
